Description
This resource (Foreword by Dr Patricia Mannix McNamara, Senior Lecturer, Education Dept, University of Limerick) uses Scenario Stories (Ten short stories based on problem issues entitled: Cleanliness, Gossip, Overweight, Learning Difficulty, Newcomer, Diverse Families, Clever/Alternative, Absent/illness, Bully, Social Media) with accompanying Group Discussion and Personal Development Questions, to provide a practical and everyday framework for teachers and students. These Scenario Stories are an extremely useful tool; using fictional characters to address real life scenarios which occur in the classroom, playground or after school. They can be used as a buffer to mirror situations as they occur, by raising students awareness of the potential consequences of their actions or words. The object of this resource is to give Educators the means to open up discussion about bullying and other sensitive issues amongst students naturally, while at the same time conditioning a positive mental attitude about themselves and others.
